Using state-of-the-art outdoor apparel technology, the Long Distance + Jacket has been further developed to provide sled dogs with the best possible running and resting experience in extreme cold. This jacket combines reliable protection with maximum comfort and outstanding thermal insulation.

The wind- and waterproof ripstop outer fabric provides robust protection against harsh weather conditions and withstands even extreme stress. Inside, a heat-reflective membrane ensures that three times more heat is retained than with conventional nylon fabric. This keeps your dog warm even in freezing temperatures and helps conserve vital energy during rest periods.

The jacket is filled with recycled PrimaLoft® Black Insulation Hi-Loft, which provides a high level of loft while remaining lightweight, breathable, and compact for storage. Whether in a sled or a backpack—it’s easy to transport, making it ideal for long-distance races and expeditions.

It fastens with two durable Velcro closures on the chest and belly, providing a secure fit—even over a pulling harness. The tailored, ergonomic design guarantees full freedom of movement and comprehensive protection for the chest, shoulders, thighs, and waist.

An optional cover for protecting male genitals is included. Reflective details on the sides ensure improved visibility and increase safety at crossings, on heavily trafficked trails, and in mountainous terrain.

The Long Distance + Jacket is available in bright orange and comes in sizes S through XL. If your dog falls between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger jacket.

What is the difference between the Long Distance+ jacket and the Long Distance Light jacket?

The Long Distance + Jacket features PrimaLoft® Black Insulation Hi-Loft combined with a high-performance heat-reflective membrane, while the Long Distance Light Jacket is equipped with PrimaLoft® Silver insulation. Of these two jackets, the Long Distance + Jacket is the warmer one. The Long Distance + Jacket has an outer shell made of a more durable rip-stop fabric. The main advantage of the Long Distance Light Jacket is its low weight—it’s lightweight and easy to pack.
