AniForte® Grass Mite-EX Spray is primarily a repellent designed to ward off and prevent grass mites on your dog. Grass mites, also known as fall mites, are known for leaving welts on the skin and causing severe itching. The essential oils it contains can help soothe the affected skin areas.

Mite Spray for Dogs: What Exactly Are Grass Mites?
 

Like ticks, for example, grass mites belong to the arachnid family. In Germany, they are present from April through the end of October, depending on the weather. However, due to generally warmer winters, the mites can also appear outside their usual season.

Adult grass mites have eight legs, as is typical for arachnids. The larvae, on the other hand, have only six legs. They are less than a millimeter in size and, compared to adult grass mites—which are about two millimeters long—are even harder to spot. It is precisely these mites that can infest your dog, as they require the lymph and cellular fluids of animals for their development.
